ABSTRACT

Seed cells, biomaterials and growth factors are three important aspects in tissue engineering. Biomaterials mimic extra cellular matrix in vivo, providing a sound environment for cells to grow and attach, so as to maintain cell viability and function. The physicochemical properties and modification molecules of material surface mediate cell behaviors like cell adhesion, proliferation, migration and differentiation, which in turn affect cellular function and tissue regeneration efficacy. Furthermore, the modification molecules of material surface are the direct contact point for cell adhesion and growth. Therefore, the interactions between cells and surface modification molecules are the key to tissue engineering. This review summarizes the effects of surface modification molecules on cell phenotypes and functions.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To explore how to enhance the strength of science and technology of research-oriented hospital using goal management, thereby effectively promoting the construction and development of research hospitals.Methods:This paper studies the goal management measures and their effectiveness through data analysis, analyzes the problems of scientific research, goal management measures and changes in scientific research before and after the implementation measures over the years.Results:The goal management significantly enhances the scientific and technological strength. Total amount of research funding kept increasing year by year. Goal accountability management effectively improve the participation in individual scientific research activities. The implementation of high-quality papers goal management has a significant role in promoting the researchers to publish their achievements in domestic journals with international influence.Conclusions:Goal management plays an important role in the improvement of the scientific and technological strength of the hospital, which can effectively promote the construction and development of the research-oriented hospitals connotation. Goal management can serve as a powerful grasper for the research-oriented hospital to improve the scientific research capacity.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To explore the method and clinical efficacy of Flow-through latissimus dorsi musculocutaneous flap to repair children’s limb wounds.Methods:From January, 2017 to September, 2019, the Flow-through latissimus dorsi myocutaneous flap was used to repair the limb wounds in 9 children, which were 3 cases of upper extremity wounds and 6 cases of lower extremity wounds. The patients were 5-12 years old, with an average age of 9.4 years. The wound debridement was performed in the first stage, and the wound was covered with VSD. The second operation was performed 5-8 days later. Flow-through free latissimus dorsi muscle flap was used to repair the wound, and 6 patients combined with skin grafting. During the operation, both ends of the recipient area artery were trimmed into a downward slant. The proximal end of the recipient area blood vessel was coincided with the subscapular artery, the distal end was coincided with the circumflex scapular artery, and the thoracodorsal vein and the recipient area vein were coincided. One patient had 2 thoracodorsal veins, and 8 patients had 1 thoracodorsal vein. After the operation, the patients were given anti-infection, anticoagulation and antispasmodic treatment. And regular follow-up.Results:In this group, 8 flaps survived completely, and 1 had partial epidermal necrosis, which healed under the scab. Skin grafting survives well. Nine patients were followed-up for 3 to 28 months, 7 of which were followed-up in the outpatient clinic, and 2 by WeChat. CDU showed smooth blood flow in all patients 1 month after operation, in addition of 3 after 1 year. The flap had good blood flow and soft texture. Flap plastic surgery was performed in 3 cases.Conclusion:Using Flow-through latissimus dorsi musculocutaneous flap to repair the wounds of the children’s limbs, the flap survived well after the operation, and the blood circulation of the main vessel in the affected area was smooth, which had no obvious effect on the blood supply to the distal limb of the affected area.

ABSTRACT

<p><b>OBJECTIVE</b>To investigate the expression pattern of resistin (RSTN) in skeletal muscle tissue and its influence on glycometabolism in rats with traumatic brain injury (TBI).</p><p><b>METHODS</b>Seventy-eight SD rats were randomly divided into traumatic group (n=36), RSTN group (n=36) and sham operation group (n=6). Fluid percussion TBI model was developed in traumatic and RSTN groups and the latter received additional 1 mg RSTN antibody treatment for each rat. At respectively 12 h, 24 h, 72 h, 1 w, 2 w, and 4 w after operation, venous blood was collected and the right hind leg skeletal muscle tissue was sampled. We used real-time PCR to determine mRNA expression of RSTN in skeletal muscles, western blot to determine RSTN protein expression and ELISA to assess serum insulin as well as fasting blood glucose (FBG) levels. Calculation of the quantitative insulin sensitivity check index (Q value) was also conducted. The above mentioned indicators and their correction were statistically analyzed.</p><p><b>RESULTS</b>Compared with sham operation group, the RSTN expression in the skeletal muscle as well as serum insulin and FBG levels revealed significant elevation (P<0.05), and reduced Q value (P<0.05) in traumatic group. Single factor linear correlation analysis showed a significant negative correlation between RSTN expression and Q values (P<0.001) in traumatic group.</p><p><b>CONCLUSION</b>The expression of RSTN has been greatly increased in the muscular tissue of TBI rats and it was closely related to the index of glycometabolism. RSTN may play an important role in the process of insulin resistance after TBI.</p>

ABSTRACT

Total Glucosides of Paeony Root ( TGPs, 5-40 mg/kg) had a dose-related increasing effect on the survival time of mice under normobaric hypoxia. TGPs (20 mg/kg) had a significant increasing effect on survival time of mice under hypobaric hypoxia & a decreasing effect in the oxygen consumption in mice. TGPs ( 40mg/kg ) decreased the mortality of mice from the acute hypoxia induced by KCN. Increasing effect on the survival time of mice under normobaric hypoxia of TGPs was significantly antagonised by chlortrimeton. The efficacy of TGPs (icv 2.5-5 mg/kg) approximated to that of TGPs (ip 5-40 mg/kg) respectively. It suggested that the effect of TGPs on resistance to hypoxia was produced by central nervous system. The efficacy of TGPs ( icv) was significantly antagonised by chlortrimeton. It was shown that the effect of TGPs was produced by H1-receptor. In the experiment of resistance to hypoxia of TGPs (ip or icv), we measured the change of rectal temperature of mice. The data indicated the positive corr- elation of both effects of TGPs (r=0.58, P
